(John-Heneage Jesse, 1808—1874) — английский писатель. Уже в 1829 году Д. обратил на себя внимание эпическим стихотворением "Mary Queen of Scots", в следующем году издал том стихотворений: "Tales of the dead"; но самую большую известность доставил ему изданный им ряд из лирических и биографических сочинений: "Memoirs of the court of England during the reigns of the Stuarts" (3 изд., 1857); "The court of London from the revolution in 1688 to the death of George II" (1843); "Richard III and his contemporaries" (1861) и др. Лучшее его произведение: "Memoirs of the life and reign of George III" (1867).
